Andrew J. Horning |
Drew oversees all operational, financial and marketing matters for the Institute and has responsibility for strategic planning efforts and the successful execution of high-priority initiatives. He also regularly advises graduate students with regard to academics and career direction. Mr. Horning came to the Erb Institute in 2002, after serving as Market Development Manager with DTE Energy, where he focused on the commercialization of clean and renewable energy technologies, such as fuel cells, photovoltaics and wind power. He also worked for several years as a wealth manager in the financial services industry, spending most of that time with the Merrill Lynch Private Client Group. Drew received his MBA and MS degrees from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and School of Natural Resources and Environment. He also holds a B.S. in Business Economics from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona.
Drew presently serves on the Board of Advisors for Greenopolis.

Marketing & Events Coordinator
H. Dominique Abed |
Dominique is responsible for a number of key areas within the institute including marketing initiatives and major events management. Dominique previously served as Executive Secretary at University of Michigan's Women's Studies Program. Prior to her work with the U of M, Dominique spent 12 years working as a canine obedience and tracking instructor. She also has more than nine years of advertising and graphic design experience, and completed the Washtenaw Community College Web Technology Certification Program in July 2004. Dominique holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan.

Cynthia A. Cleveland |
Cyndy joined the staff of the Erb Institute in 1997. She coordinates many of the administrative and program activities of the Institute. Cyndy earned a BA from Albion College. Much of her career has been in higher education including program administration in the School of Public Health & Community Medicine, the College of Education at the University of Washington and 7 years in University and Government Relations at the University of Michigan. Cyndy enjoys the outdoors, travel, the arts, swing dancing and of course the Erb Institute MBA/MS students! |

Financial Administrator
Karen Houghtaling |
Karen joined the staff of the Erb Institute in 2008. She is responsible for financial reporting and transaction reconciliation activities within the Institute. She also provides assistance in developing and monitoring annual budgets, and creating policies and procedures to help streamline administrative processes. Karen came to the Erb Institute from Arizona State University where she served as a Program Coordinator in Global Outreach and Extended Education. She has more than 15 years of administrative experience and more than 12 years of management experience. Karen earned her AA from Rio Salado College in Tempe, Arizona. She is a native of Michigan who likes to garden, travel, and read. |

Work Study Student
Julie Kwon |
Julie Kwon graduated from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor and is a Freshman at the University of Michigan. She hopes to transfer to the Ross School of Business next year. Julie is interested in environmental and social issues in North Korea where she wants to help out in the future. She is also interested in musicals, dancing and cooking. She is fluent in Korean and currently studying Chinese. Julie views working at the Erb Institute as an opportunity to meet like-minded, passionate people committed to making the world a better place. |
